Embase is one of the largest databases for researching biomedical literature and includes citations from around the world. It also provides information on drugs and pharmacology, medical devices, clinical medicine, and basic sciences. It offers indexing with Emtree for subject terms, and it allows you to build searches using the PICO framework. Embase includes 32 million records from 8,500+ journals.
PubMed comprises more than 29 million citations for biomedical literature from MEDLINE, life science journals, and online books. Citations may include links to free full-text content from PubMed Central and publisher web sites. PubMed does not provide access to the subscribed full text articles. However, the special Khalifa University PubMed link (PubMed@KU) connects PubMed records to KU's library subscriptions and inter-library loan services (to request articles we do not own). Each PubMed record abstract page should have a Full text @ Khalifa University link in the upper right corner of the screen. Clicking this link will connect PubMed to the library's resources/ Inter-library Loan page.
Evidence-based point of care resource popular with health care providers. It offer concise, yet detailed, overviews of medical topics. The KU subscription includes access to the useful app. (Note: You will need to log into the desktop version within every three months to keep your access to the app.)
UpToDate Lexidrug is a point of care drug information resource for pharmacists, physicians and nurses aimed at helping to reduce risk, and improve patient outcomes when prescribing, and dealing with medications.
