Embase is a medical research database with strong coverage on most medical topics, as well as drugs and pharmacology, medical devices, clinical medicine, basic sciences, and drug trials. It offers multiple ways to search, including its own set of subject terms (Emtree) and a search builder using the PICO framework. Along with PubMed, it makes an excellent starting point for conducting research on medical-related topics.

Sometimes Embase will not load. If you see the screen below try a different browser, or close and open Embase again. (You do not need to click any of the buttons on the screen.) It is not clear why this happens, but the library is working with IT to try to resolve it.
You can download and watch a recorded library workshop (Nov. 16, 2022) on Embase from a shared Google Drive link, or navigate through this guide to learn about to use Embase. You are welcome to request an individual (or group) session on Embase, in person or online; see the Get Help page for contact information.
